Answering the Call for a New Evangelization

“The era of missions
is not over.  Christ still needs generous men and women who will become messengers of the Good News to the ends of the earth.  Have no fear of following Him. Share freely with others the faith that you have received !"

"No believer in  Christ, can be separate from the supreme beauty; of proclaiming Christ to all the people’.” -- Pope  John Paul II, Vatican City, Sept. 19, 2003.

Catholic radio is one of several new media the Holy Spirit is stirring up as tools of evangelization and catechises. As it grows out of infancy, Catholic radio is expanding and spreading the Gospel to millions of souls throughout the United States and the world.

Catholic radio is a personal, immediate, and cost-effective tool to spread the Truth. Resting upon the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity, Catholic radio serves and responds to the needs of the local church, with minimal overhead expenses.

The Catholic Radio Association was founded in 1999 to serve as the trade association for Catholic radio. As such, the CRA works to advance the cause of Catholic radio by providing member services, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and resources, and speaking with one voice for its members. The Association's membership includes virtually all Catholic radio apostolates in the country, Catholic radio program providers, the USCCB, and several (arch)dioceses.

By uniting all involved in Catholic radio, the CRA provides a forum for those already working in Catholic radio to share with and mentor those that Our Lord has just recently called to the mission of Catholic radio. The CRA also provides a means of networking with, and marketing to, those involved in Catholic radio. The annual Global Catholic Radio conference, co hosted with EWTN, is an opportunity for learning, discussing, and connecting with others involved in Catholic radio. The CRA’s bi-monthly newsletter alerts members of new developments in Catholic radio, as well as providing information on other apostolates and ministries who could be of service.
